Medical Director of Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Laboratories, Jersey City Medical Center

The Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School invites applications for a faculty position at the Associate Professor or Professor level in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Jersey City Medical Center. The Department is responsible for the oversight and management of all anatomic and clinical laboratory services at Jersey City Medical Center, a 332 bed level 2 trauma center. The successful candidate will be a member of the Anatomic and Clinical Pathology team, consulting with clinical staff, as well as an active participant in the educational programs of the Department including teaching medical students and residents, and will be expected to engage in productive research activities. This is a general pathology service, although subspecialty expertise in cytopathology is desirable. In addition, as laboratory medical director, the successful candidate will be responsible for oversight and management of the anatomic and clinical pathology laboratories, College of American Pathologists laboratory inspections and other accreditation processes, supervision of attending pathologists, attendance at various hospital meetings, as well as other duties assigned by the chair of Pathology.

An MD, DO, or MBBS is required along with board certification or board eligibility in AP/CP. Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and academic experience. Women and diverse candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
