Become a Member of SBP!

The Society of Black Pathologists (SBP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing barriers to diversity and inclusion, working to increase the number of Black and underrepresented minorities in pathology, providing mentorship to support career and leadership development, and expanding research in the area of healthcare disparities.

SBP offers five membership categories.

Attending Pathologist Members: $100
Attending Pathologist Members are individuals who have completed residency training in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, or both and are either in practice as attending pathologists or have retired from practice as an attending pathologist.

Affiliate Members: $50
Affiliate Members are laboratory professionals who routinely work with pathologists.

Resident Pathologist Members: Free
Resident Pathologist Members are individuals who are in the process of training in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, or both or those in the process of training in a pathology subspecialty fellowship.

Medical Student Members: Free
Medical Student Members are individuals enrolled in Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited medical schools.

Emeritus Members: Free
Retired members may request to be Emeritus (non-voting) members or current members retiring may request to be transferred to Emeritus status. Emeritus status may be on a case-by-case basis by the board.
