Academic Pathologist Specializing in Transfusion Medicine/Director of Transfusion Medicine Service

The Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor level in the Section of Transfusion Medicine in the Division of Clinical Pathology. The section is responsible for performance of Transfusion Medicine services at University Hospital – the school’s 519 bed tertiary care core teaching hospital. The successful candidate will be a member of the Transfusion Medicine team, consulting with clinical staff, as well as an active participant in the educational programs of the Department including teaching medical students, residents, and will be expected to engage in productive research activities. This active clinical position will involve complex transfusion consultations, including transfusion support for trauma/massive transfusion, liver transplant, hematology/oncology, and assistance for complex coagulation conditions. Expertise in therapeutic apheresis is also required. Applicants must have experience or fellowship training in all aspects of clinical transfusion medicine practice.

An MD, DO, or MBBS is required along with board certification or board eligibility in AP/CP or CP and transfusion medicine.
