Academic Genitourinary Pathologist, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and the Cancer Institute of New Jersey

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in conjunction with the Cancer institute of New Jersey invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level on the Clinical Scholar track in the Section of Surgical Pathology in the Division of Anatomic Pathology, specializing in Genitourinary Pathology. The section is responsible for performance of surgical pathology laboratory services at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital – the school’s 650 bed tertiary care core teaching hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. The successful candidate will also qualify for membership at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey, the state’s only NCI designated cancer center. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Surgical Pathology team, consulting with clinical staff, as well as active participants in the educational programs of the Department including teaching medical students, residents, and clinical fellows, and will be expected to engage in productive research activities with other members of the Cancer Institute of New Jersey; these members should have a track record for extramural research. Subspecialty interest in cytopathology is desireable, but not required.

Currently, CINJ is home to a growing molecular pathology service; in addition, molecular pathology services are also growing with an anticipated expansion of the biorepositiory. The Jack and Sheryl Morris Cancer Center, a freestanding (12 story, 510,000 square foot) cancer center that will include inpatient (96 beds) and outpatient facilities as well as space for research and education activities related to cancer, is scheduled to open in 2024.

An MD, DO, or MBBS is required along with board certification or board eligibility in AP/CP or AP. Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and academic experience. Women and diverse candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

To apply, please submit a curriculum vitae, a letter outlining your interests and experience and the names of three (3) references (references will not be contacted prior to selection of the candidate as a finalist) to:
